2022 AMBUCS National Conference and 100th Anniversary Celebration

8:30 am – 11:30 am  Phase 1 - Great Birmingham Amtryke Build (No matter what your skill level may be – from novice to master mechanic - please join us in preparing 100 Amtrykes for excited recipients in the Birmingham community.) 

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm  National Big Hat Club Executive Committee Meeting (National Big Hat Officers, Region Big Hat Directors, and Black Hatters only.)

6:00 pm – 9:00 pm  Dinner/Opening Event (Bite into Birmingham as we enjoy some traditional Southern fare with flair, and dance the decades away, from the 1920’s to the 2020’s.)

7:30 am – 8:30 am  National Big Hat Club Business Meeting (Big Hatters only.)

9:00 am – 10:30 am  General Business Session (Open to all National Conference attendees.)

11:00 am – 1:00 pm  National Big Hat Club Lunch and Auction (Big Hatters only. No spouses or guests. Not included with conference registration. Separate ticket required. Cash bar.)

11:00 am – 1:00 pm  Lunch on Your Own (For all conference attendees, other than Big Hatters attending National Big Hat Lunch and Auction.) 

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm  Important Amtryke Update (Open to all conference attendees.)

2:30 pm – 6:00 pm  Free Afternoon (If not participating in the Amtryke Build, check out local attractions such as Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, Birmingham Zoo, McWane Science Center, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Vulcan Park and Museum, Top Golf, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and Birmingham Museum of Art.)

7:00 pm – 9:30 pm  Dinner and Special Event (Will include special recognition of Past National Presidents, Vic Menendez – 2019-2020 and Sue Haywood – 2020-2021, since we were unable to hold in-person National Conferences during their years of leadership.)

9:00 am – 11:30 am  General Business Session (Open to all National Conference attendees.)

11:30 am – 4:00 pm  Golf Outing (Enjoy an afternoon of golf at historic Highland Park Golf Course in the heart of downtown Birmingham. Includes lunch. Separate registration required.)

11:30 am – 1:00 pm  Lunch on Your Own (For those not golfing.)

1:00 pm – Until  Free Afternoon/Evening (Check out local restaurants and attractions such as Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, Birmingham Zoo, McWane Science Center, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Vulcan Park and Museum, Top Golf, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and Birmingham Museum of Art.)

10:00 am – 12:00 pm  Foundation Program (Open to all National Conference attendees.)

12:00 pm – 1:30 pm  Special William L. White Donors, Amtryke Ambassadors, and Chapter Advocates Luncheon (Giving Society Members Only. Introduction and special recognition of living family members of William L. White.)  

12:00 pm – 1:30 pm  Lunch for General Attendees (For those not attending the luncheon for Giving Society members.) 

1:30 pm – 3:00 pm  Educational Sessions (Open to all National Conference attendees.)

3:15 pm – 4:45 pm  Educational Sessions (Open to all National Conference attendees.)

5:00 pm – 6:30 pm  Awards Program (Merit Awards. Open to all National Conference attendees.)

7:00 pm - Until  Dinner on Your Own
 

7:30 am – 9:00 am  17th Annual Trek for Trykes Walk-A-Thon (Separate registration required.) 

9:30 am – 11:00 am  General Business Session (Open to all National Conference attendees.)

11:00 am – 12:00 pm  Brunch/Lunch on Your Own 

11:00 am – 12:00 pm  Training for Therapists and Select Amtryke Giveaway Volunteers (Brunch/Lunch provided.)

12:00 pm – 4:30 pm  Great Birmingham Amtryke Giveaway (Children 12:00 – 2:45, followed by Vets 2:45 – 4:30 pm. Open to all National Conference attendees.)

6:00 pm – 6:50 pm  President-Elect’s Reception (Cash Bar. Open to all National Conference attendees.)

7:00 pm – 10:00 pm  President’s Dinner (Cash Bar. Achievement Awards and Officer Installation. Open to all National Conference attendees.)
